Join 12 South Neighborhood for the first neighborhood Big Draw in the United States, hosted by the Frothy Monkey. Bring your pencils, pens, markers, crayons and paper to help us draw our houses, commercial and community buildings.
Schedule of events:
8 AM — Meet at Frothy Monkey for a pep talk with tips on drawing, and friendly talk on the architecture and history of 12 South. with Nick Dryden, Charles Howell — a lifetime resident and historian of the neighborhood and Suzanne McDermott.
8:45 AM-Noon — Draw your house or a favorite building or two in the neighborhood.
Noon – 2 PM — Drop off your drawings at The Frothy Monkey Big Draw Station.
6 PM — Reception to celebrate exhibit of all the drawings. No judgment for “best drawing” — every drawing has its merit. The payoff is to participate, draw and learn how to see the neighborhood in a new way.
The mission of Drawing America is to promote drawing while building community. Let’s Get Everyone Drawing!
