Join AIGA Nashville August 9th at 6:30pm for the finalé to our summer speaker series with Anna Stout! Anna will be discussing the realities of running and working in a marketing agency and how to deal with the “it should only take an hour” people who think marketing is all coloring and cocktails.
So what about that flash of inspiration that was left sitting on the conference room table? The reality: it can’t be left there. It must be immediately picked up, turned over, expanded, stretched, restrained, examined and violated in every way possible. And that’s just the beginning. And that’s just if you’re lucky enough to be struck with a great idea. Marketing wins are hard fought for, often bought and easily lost. And what makes most any marketing effort successful is the grind. It is not a job for the faint of heart.
About the Speaker
Anna Stout is a native of Vicksburg, MS. She moved to Nashville in 2007 and soon began studying design at Watkins College of Arts, Design and Film. After graduating from Watkins with a BFA in Graphic Design, Anna began her professional career at GS&F, working in the interactive department on national accounts such as LP, Asurion and ICP. A self-taught web developer, Anna started her own agency after the birth of her first son. Her company, Astute Communications, is a full service marketing agency focusing on Custom Web Design and Development, Search Engine Optimization and Branding and Content Creation.
Anna is actively involved in the technology community. You can find her participating in local tech conferences, serving as a mentor for Women Get IT, or taking the stage as a nationally recognized speaker. Anna has spoken at various web design industry conferences including ConvergeSE and GIANTconf. She speaks passionately about web design and development with a focus on process, user experience and conversion optimization.
Now a mother of two, successful business owner and proud “Woman in Tech,” Anna is dedicated to empowering other women in technology through ongoing educational opportunities and one-on-one mentoring.
